National Child Abuse Prevention Month
 
Wear Your Blue Ribbon!!!

April has been designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month by presidential proclamtion since 1983 and in Los Angeles County, we recognize it by promoting the Blue Ribbon Campaign.  We encourage everyone to show their support for protecting children by wearing a blue ribbon.

It would be great to see thousands of blue ribbons around the county to demonstrate our commitment to end this national tragedy.

  • Child Mentor

    The  job duties for this position are the following:

    ·         Offer Behavioral Emotional support to at-risk youth (positive role modeling)

     

    ·         Must be a positive role model, have the ability to conduct groups, manage behavioral issues and work as a team member.

     

    ·         Meet child between ages of 4 – 19 for 4 – 10 hours per week

    ·         Document activities in the Client Tracking System

     

    Requirements

     

    • Must be 21 years of age w/ valid CA driver’s license
    • Fingerprint/ Criminal Background w/ DOJ & FBI and Child Abuse Clearances in the past year
    • Clear DMV Record
    • A car available for driving
    • GED or High School Diploma
